Abstract

Spaces of resistance offer experimental sites for pedagogical innovation, engaging artists, researchers and educators in creative and reflective practice that pushes the boundaries of art and education, taking away the structural aspects of institutions to create new forms of community in learning. Such ‘discomfort zones’ of connection and difference can be interrogated to distil a repertoire of creative pedagogical characteristics that optimise freedom, agency, choice and imagination.
