This was an exhibition of 10 paintings done in 2001. The exhibition was reviewed in Art Monthly in November 2001.
The works examined the possibility of a mark that violates a pre-existing situation without obliterating it. Offering an emphatic staginess of the mark, the works were also concerned with testing the point at which the mark becomes a sign and/or is monumentalized. At the same time, the paintings attempted to site this moment of transition pictorially, by linking it to a dissolution of genres (landscape, fete champetre) and figures.
