Abstract: 'Victorians Decoded' was an exhibition exploring the connections between Nineteenth-Century telegraphic engineering and Victorian painting. The four rooms of the exhibition juxtaposed telegraphic objects and visual images to tease out underlying preoccupations and motivations with the themes of 'distance', 'resistance', 'coding' and 'transmission'.
