This is a key text in the field of global education/global citizenship/global dimension which draws on elements of critical pedagogy. It can claim to be original in that it is the first full-length book of its kind to elaborate on the DfES pamphlet 'Developing the global dimension in the school curriculum'. Its significance can be seen in its relationship to the latest DFES statement on the importance of the global dimension in the curriculum. Its rigour arises from the expertise of the contributors, all leading experts in their fields. It was accepted by two international referees and the publisher's internal committee.
