Note: | This book is set within the field of primary design and technology (DandT) education. Its theoretical perspective is that of the contribution of DandT to wider cross-curricular dimensions within primary education. It is an original contribution in that it was the first time that the potential for children's creative and cultural development through DandT had been thoroughly explored, and the first time that DandT had been linked with citizenship education. It has made a significant contribution to teacher education in primary DandT within the UK and overseas, laying foundations for further work in this area. Its rigour lies in its use of a wide range of case-study material to exemplify arguments. The proposal of the book was subject to review by the publisher and their reviewers. The three authors made equivalent contributions but I edited the book. |
