Abstract: | Echoes is relay of one person’s protest, realised through individual performances testifying to the idea of equality through individually different ways of expression. The project becomes a collection of performances by anonymous participants conducting their individual performances in public places. The entire process of organising/realising the performance relies on web communication in order to build trust within a group and to express a resistance towards hierarchical legitimacy that support discrimination. All the performers listen to the original soundtrack made by the artist and produce/improvise their own performance according to this. The soundtrack is not exposed to the audience, but it functions as an invisible conductor. |
