Dexter Dalwood’s imagined painting of a French philosopher’s apartment, whose scrawled interiors conjure the range of aesthetic and social forces shaping a particular consciousness at a volatile historical moment.
This was a group exhibition: a five-room display brings together works by several contemporary artists, each taking the form of a theatrical, fictional or ‘staged’ presence within the gallery.
Works included by Pawel Althamer, Sandra Gamarra, Martin Boyce, and Dexter Dalwood.
Exhibition curated by Rachel Taylor and Ann Coxon.
