Quilos and the Windmill (Dr Michele Whiting and Dr Linda Khatir) collaborated with Peter Mars, a Pop Artist in Chicago USA. They worked over 18 months via online video calling on the material exhibited at the Mars Gallery Chicago on 16 June - 1 September 2016.
The collaboration focussed on the spaces of familial exchange examining our relationship to and domestication of dogs. Titled 'Bad Wilma', it showcased an authentic act of making, collaboration and exchange between artists and countries (Sweden, England and the USA). It examined how we consider dogs culturally, and creative methods that we can use to build narrative content in the works, questioning if we can illuminate literary iconography within a creative process. This was achieved through dialogue and through sharing studio space, equipment, ideas and collaborating artistically between the functions of painting and the print, to bring the works to fruition, each learning or reinforcing skills from the other.
