Abstract: | Tania Kovats’ work ‘Tide’ uses real-time data to create a digital drawing tracking the tide as it moves around mainland Britain. Her 12-kilo bronze bell, cast on Porthcurno Beach in Cornwall, rang daily at high tide over the River Thames as part of the Somerset House exhibition. |

Note: | Commission for the National Trust’s celebration of Project Neptune, and their custodianship of coastal landscape. In collaboration with Sound UK, the National Trust invited sound artist Martyn Ware (founder of The Human League and Heaven 17), poet Owen Sheers and visual artist Tania Kovats to take inspiration from their Neptune Coastline Campaign to acquire and care for coastal land, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2015. |
