Abstract

What does it mean to be mad? Whether it’s the associations it conjures or the people it brings to mind, ‘schizophrenia’ is a word we all have a view on. Nathan Filer’s The Heartland journeys into the psychiatric wards he once worked on, introducing some of the extraordinary people he encountered. He joins Georgina Godwin to provide a unique insight into a condition long misdiagnosed and much misunderstood.
