Les bikes du bois rond

Turk was lead artist for Fleet: Art in the Haven Ports, an international partnership project managed by Commissions East and supported by Arts Council England. Turk contributed to Fleet’s overall artistic vision, curating an exhibition at the Town Hall Galleries, Ipswich from the FRAC Nord-Pas de Calais collection and supporting the artists commissioned to undertake residencies, projects and commissions. His project ‘Les Bikes du Bois Rond’ was a response to the work of Polish artist Andre Cadere. The bicycles were used for a series of public bicycle rides in Suffolk, Essex, and Lille, France, and were also open for the public to ride in the sculpture park at Frieze 2010.
