Item Type: Performance
Creators: Duddell, J and Nero,
Date: 2011
Event Location: BBC Media City, Saltford, UK
Note:

The Dubstep Symphony was an attempt to fuse two disparate ensembles (an orchestra and electronic duo) and impose a symphonic form upon material derived from a dance style and form which has become known as 'Dubstep'. It was also an attempt to reflect some of the nuances of the this relatively new hybrid style with acoustic orchestral instruments. Commissioned by BBC Radio 1, it formed part of the BBC Philharmonic's move into their new studio at MediaCity.
