| Abstract: | Forests and Trees focuses on research into landscape as metaphor for the human condition, the Contemporary Sublime, human psychology, atmospheric conditions and subjects surrounding climate change. This Collection comprises a multi-component output with contextualising information, providing evidence of three vitrine works shown at five exhibitions, and two audio-visual installations. The items document: the inclusion of And Then The World Changed Colour: Breathing Yellow in the exhibition Among The Trees that opened at the Hayward Gallery on 4th March 2020; the exhibition of And Then the World Changed Colour: Breathing Yellow', a sculptural installation commissioned for the mausoleum at Dulwich Picture Gallery, London and displayed as part of the exhibition, Painting Norway (13 February – 2 June 2019); the inclusion of And the World Changed Colour: Breathing Yellow in 'Sediment', a solo survey exhibition of Mariele Neudecker's work at Limerick City Gallery of Art in Ireland, (6th September until 17th November 2019); What If We All Stopped?, a tank work made for and exhibited at Art Basel 2018; The Touch of Earthly Years, a tank work made specifically for Neudecker's solo exhibition, Echo Chamber, at the Pedro Cera gallery in Lisbon in 2018; the making and installation of Hanging Gardens:Parallel Lives an audio visual work commissioned for the 3 main passenger lifts at the New Cancer Centre at Guys Hospital, London; and Figure of 8, a surround sound work, which formed part of Film Basel, Miami in 2015. Contextualising information includes a 300 word statement, research timeline, and research questions. |
