Abstract: | 100 Years Later: RISING is a practice based research project led by Dr Helena Enright which explores contemporary experiences of young people’s social and political activism in the wake of the 100 year anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising in Ireland. Rising is an original piece of verbatim theatre, commissioned and funded by Dublin Youth Theatre and was the main output of the research. This Collection comprises a single-component output with contextualising information, and documents the above research providing as evidence a video of the Rising performance, the Rising play script, and as contextualising information, a 300-word statement, research timeline and research questions, a promotional video of the Rising performance, the Rising performance flyer, a short research and development video, an example diary entry from a Rising cast member, and material from Dr Helena Enright's conference presentation at the Changemakers Youth Theatre Practice Symposium. |
