Abstract
In this paper we discuss what constitutes ethical research for people with PMLD. We describe the work of university ethics committees and suggest that people with PMLD and those involved in their care have not been given due consideration in mainstream research ethics regulations. Readers are invited to share their thoughts about what an ethical research project looks like for people with PMLD.
