Meta-hierarchical exercise

Hong, Y (2022) Meta-hierarchical exercise. In: Scoring the Words, Seoul Museum of Art, Seoul, South Korea, 1 September - 20 November 2022.

Item Type: Performance
Creators: Hong, Y
Abstract: This was a new performance introduced at the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA). It was a group performance advocating a set of objectives via audio visual and tactile means. While understanding history as a legacy of patriarchal tradition that has lasted thousands of years, the performance attempts to investigate different ways of re-enacting history through non-linguistic and non chronological means. The performance devised by the artist becomes an agency practising various methods testing out non hierarchical and non patriarchal modes of expression. Meta-hierarchical Exercise is a project initiated by Young In Hong's intercultural research in 2018 looking at French 68 revolution archives and the photo archives.
