Abstract: | This was a new performance introduced at the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA). It was a group performance advocating a set of objectives via audio visual and tactile means. While understanding history as a legacy of patriarchal tradition that has lasted thousands of years, the performance attempts to investigate different ways of re-enacting history through non-linguistic and non chronological means. The performance devised by the artist becomes an agency practising various methods testing out non hierarchical and non patriarchal modes of expression. Meta-hierarchical Exercise is a project initiated by Young In Hong's intercultural research in 2018 looking at French 68 revolution archives and the photo archives. |
