Note: | Opening Date: 2002-Sep-08 The success of this exhibition prompted the gallery director, Christian Fochem, to ask me to create another exhibition in 2002, the only artist from that event to be invited to exhibit again. The exhibition was timed to coincide with exhibitions at the Kaiser Wilhelm Museum and Museum Haus Esters with a reception at the former in which I was welcomed back in speeches by the mayor and director of culture in Krefeld. The exhibition featured seven sculptures with the largest, 'Untitled 36', consisting of five sections. All sculptures were made in perforated steel and six were additional powder coated in a number of colours. This was the first exhibition in which computer modelling played a very important part in both the planning and execution of the works exhibited, as I needed not only to have images of the works several months before the event but also needed to accurately predict quantities of material, size and weight of the objects for shipping and how the work would be installed. |
