Dahn, J (2004) 'Think about it.' Ceramic Review (206). pp. 34-37.
Abstract
The author considers the term 'conceptual' and its current widespread use to describe ceramic objects. The article references Sol LeWitt's 1967 definition of conceptual art, where the art object was 'de-materialised'. The author discuss performance and time-based ceramics, and suggests that this type of work not only challenges and expands the boundaries of ceramics, but of conceptual visual practice in general.
