This exhibition investigated current innovations in British wallpaper design providing dramatic presentations of handcrafted papers through to small-scale, batch produced ranges. As the majority of my work intends to challenge the perception of wallpaper, in relation to tactility, scale and theme, this exhibition offered the opportunity to express innovation through this often undervalued form of interior decoration
I was able to show 2 ranges of my work at this show. The cutlery set were displayed against a dramatic single side wall with black curtaining behind and the sequin hand stitched work was shown as a panel, 4 metres in length by 25cm in depth. Touch boxes were also supplied to the gallery to enable visitors to handle the work and fully appreciate the 3 dimensional quality of the hand stitched sequined wallpaper.
Other exhibitors included, Timorous Beasties, Deborah Bowness, Jane Gordon Clark, Dominic Crimson, Rachel Kelly, Tracy Kendall, Jo Pierce, and Jocelyn Warner.
