Abstract
In an historical examination of the idea that the beliefs and practices of Druids and Brahmins were and are in some way related, this paper examines the literature of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries which sought to establish such connections. In doing so, the author chronicles developments in the history of ideas and changing scholarly perceptions of both Brahmins and Druids, as well as showing how this relationship figures in contemporary images of Druids.
