Abstract
Space Place Practice is a research group comprised of visual artists/cross-disciplinary practitioners interested in issues of space and place and in exploring the interstices between practice and theory via live projects. In 2011, each member of the group took possession of a museum box courtesy of The Natural History Museum. The Museum Box Project grew out of the simple idea that these boxes become containers for specific ‘places’ attributed to individual members – where place is investigated as personally significant and therefore responded to as meaningful location.
