Spanish translation 2006, Slovenian translation to be published 2007. The work is three linked stories for beginning readers. Its originality consists in the subject matter, unpopularity and otherness in an infant school setting, for very young readers. It is significant because it tackles themes of obesity, illness and incoming for 5-7 year olds in an easy to read narrative. It does not portray young children as infallibly well-integrated into their society, and attempts to provide role models in beginning reader's fiction for the marginalised. Again, this work was heavily influenced by my doctoral thesis (on the ethics of transcultural representation), especially in the creation of the character Ibrahim. Two translations in progress
