Note: | A novel for young adults, sequel to Blue Moon, commissioned by Puffin (Penguin Books). Also published in Italy by Mondadori. Its originality consists in its content: the fictional account of the demands and joys of teenage motherhood, informed by the authors work with girls in special units for teenage mothers. Its significance lies in its non-judgmental, realistic exploration of the practical and emotional ups and downs of a teenage mother's life over the first few months after having a baby. The author's objectives were to write a powerful and realistic story for a teenage audience from the viewpoint of a sixteen year old girl. Rigour was achieved by Green's research of novels aimed at a similar audience and through her work with teenage parents. Well-reviewed (' the standard of writing is of the highest quality': Children's Books UK; 'wonderful writing, strong characters and a powerful and engaging topic' (Publishing News).
