Abstract

A lecture discussing the 'typographic dialogue' between Marinetti's 'Zang Tumb Tum' (1914) and Wyndham Lewis's BLAST of the same year. Marinetti's significance in the emergence of Italian Futurism, the Futurist legacy of noise as music, and the plundering of Fascist graphic design and typography by British pop music publishing of the 1980s.
