The sculpture in the image was made by binding objects together in a deliberately chaotic way: a card-game of images of the worlds' most famous tourist attractions, a stack of old pieces of wood and a set of office filing cards. This was temporarily exposed to an iron-powder solution, causing the lower part of the ‘file-block’ to rust and unite the materials. Index no longer exists. Looking for an image for ‘BLUEPRINT’, this particular project struck Neudecker as appropriate, as it already combined and layered a concept of human knowledge and a system of categorization with a physically changing material.
