Abstract

This keynote speech looked at the dynamic and complex history of Afro-European identities. Drawing on case studies, the presentation focused on laws put in place to regulate exchanges including, marriages, movement, labour and even the salient question of citizenship in Africa then in Europe (1600-1945).
