Abstract

The Social Media Experiment, Katherine Reeve: The Social Media Experiment project team (Film Director, Mike Johnston, Student coordinator, Anna Marie-Young) and Sam Missingham, a Social Media and Digital Publishing expert (FutureBook), will discuss this ongoing enterprise collaboration between Bath Spa University and various national and international creative industry partners. These partners include: X Media Lab (the international digital think-tank, TEDxYouthBath, and ExPLay Games Festival. From Twitter and Storify, to news film footage, students create and share promotional, live and legacy content internationally to explore the creative and commercial potential of all forms of social media content. Panel members will outline the project development and management; discuss best practice and potential pitfalls; and explore the nature of the collaborations and the learning outcomes.
