Dutton, S (2014) Institutional aesthetics: art takes residence. In: 9th Annual International Conference of the Arts in Society: "The Lives of ART", 25 - 27 June 2014, Sapienza University of Rome, Rome, Italy.
Abstract
What if an art educational institution, from front to back, top to bottom, side to side, considered itself not solely in terms of production, capital, measurable successes and quantitative outcomes, but as an aesthetic entity in itself? What might this mean? Indeed, what would it mean for the institution to think itself through and beyond aesthetics?
