Note: | This paper is set within the fields of intercultural and international education. It is one of a sequence of publications on the impacts on education of economic, political and cultural globalisation. The originality of this piece is in bringing both the theoretics of post colonial discourse theory and the context of globalisation to the understanding of intercultural education. The paper is part of a wider shift towards more theoretical work in Intercultural Education. It places the sub-discipline within wider discourses of economics and culture. The literature review is systematic and wide-ranging, covering both theory and practice. The abstract underwent a full refereeing process for presentation at an international, UNESCO conference. The full paper was selected for subsequent publication. |
