Abstract

This paper reports on an on-going PhD research project which is investigating the relationship between the phenomenon of ‘teacher expertise’ and the ability to improvise. The paper is in two parts, Part One provides a background and overview of the research whilst Part Two reports the tentative findings from a pilot case study of an expert teacher.
