Note:

The British artists John Wood (*1969) and Paul Harrison (*1966) have been working together since 1993. In their works—filmic works, drawings, objects and sculptures—they deal with human behavior, communication and the rules of our everyday lives. The artist duo’s films in particular, which are staged in a minimalist manner, move between chance, control and the loss of control. John Wood and Paul Harrison combine seriousness and absurdity in short sequences and hold up a mirror with humor. For John Wood and Paul Harrison, the development of artistic ideas begins with drawings.
All of the artists’ works therefore have a graphic quality. Language and the use of language is another central theme for the artists. How is language used and how ambiguous is it to be understood or not? The artists translate this into neon works and installations in public spaces.
