Abstract

‘Make Room!’ was a research project exploring accessibility for LGBTQIA+ disabled people. We explored the accessibility of LGBTQIA+ events and how they could be improved. The research was completed through creative conversation workshops and surveys engaging people throughout the South West. The focus of this report is to explain the role of disabled people led research from researchers from non-academic backgrounds within Make Room and We Are The People as a whole. The report will also highlight key considerations for lived experience research projects led by and for disabled people, for anyone wishing to make their workplace more accessible.
