'AI thresholds: puppetry, monstrosity and human-machine hybridity.'
Puppetry International, 58.

Abstract
We are witnessing a technology moving at immense velocity, transforming not just how we work but how we think, create, and relate to the material world. In this moment of technological acceleration in AI systems, puppetry—both as theory and practice—has much to offer as we navigate these transformations. As millions now discover themselves in iterative exchanges with AI models, puppetry’s centuries of exploring human-object collaboration and ways of thinking about the monstrous can offer insights including attentiveness to materiality, expanding concepts of agency within the nonhuman world, and models of human- object collaboration.
