The Arts Council International Artists Fellowship was an invitation by Gasworks Gallery and Triangle Arts Trust to undertake a seven week residency organised in Khirkee Village, New Delhi, India.

The residency provided the opportunity to develop new work using local materials and inspired by a new cultural context for production and exhibition.

From initial experiments using locally sourced clay and coloured powders in combination with available electrical appliances colours, the residency culminated in two site-specific works, 'family nan' and '100 bulbs for 100 people,' a short film 'disco chai' and a 30 metre roll of developmental drawings. These were shown at the open studio event at KHOJ Studios, the host organisation.

As a direct result of the work 'family nan' produced during the fellowship, Camden Arts Centre commissioned a site-specific time-based work titled '20 Whittington Street' in January 2007. The work '100 bulbs for 100 people' led to an invitation to exhibit a work titled 'Bournville' at Sophienholm, Copenhagen, Denmark in July 2005 and the work 'Festoon' shown as part of 'Shibboleth' at Dilston Grove, Café Gallery Art Projects in November 2006.The film 'Disco Chai' was shown as part of 'Platos Rotos" a touring show held in Spain from March to August 2005.

Invited In February 2004 to give an illustrated talk about the Fellowship to the MA Ceramics and Glass Students at the Royal College of Art. Also delivered a lecture titled 'An Indian Residency" to staff at Bath Spa University, faculty of Art and Design, as a part of a conference on the theme of 'Artistic Practice as Research' in February 2004. In March 2005 I gave an illustrated talk at Gasworks Gallery as part of the series "International Connections - Arts Council Fellowships."
