Poetry performance

English was sponsored by the British Council and Apples and Snakes to attend WordFest, the Calgary and Banff literary festival. She presented a series of poems, some of which were adapted to music, counter pointing the mythic narrative of the American sublime with the local rural landscape of domestic Britain. She used lyrical pieces that could be adapted to music and landscape poems to present a contrast between the UK scenery and the Canadian Rockies. It was significant in that she was one of only two UK performance poets chosen to read at the festival.
