| Note: | After the success of the first Electric Balam performance in February 2024 (billed as Panther Panther), the group were invited to play at the Allen Valleys Folk Festival in Northumberland. For this event Villierezz carried out a complete overhaul of the hardware setup and swapped the Octatrack MkII for a Digitakt II. Whilst both are samplers, the latter has a much friendlier workflow which is essential to enable improvisation and spontaneity in real-time. However, new approaches to routing audio and MIDI were necessary and it felt like performing a completely different instrument altogether. However, the results were successful, enabling the group to improvise within set parameters and boundaries freely. The event was sold-out and feedback from the public was both warm and encouraging. |
